How admission works in Slovakia

Study in Slovakia is becoming increasingly popular among Ukrainian applicants. A key admission step is the prihláška.

What does it mean?

A prihláška is the official application to a secondary school or university. An institution cannot consider a candidate without one. It is an admission application with its own particular requirements.

Application types

Applications to stredná škola are submitted after Year 9; applications to vysoká škola follow school or college.

How to apply

Apply online through the university system or a state portal, or on paper by post or in person. Paper submission is now less common, and most universities work online.

What is included?

Personal information, the chosen subject, education level and a list of attachments: school certificate, grades, motivation letter and other documents. Each university has its own requirements.
