Why is a Slovak diploma recognised throughout the EU?

Choosing a country to study in is an important step. One of Slovakia’s biggest advantages is the full recognition of its qualifications across the European Union. Why is that?

Slovakia is an EU member
Any qualification issued in an EU member state automatically falls under the Union’s common educational standards. This means that a Slovak diploma has legal validity in every EU country.

A common education quality framework (EQF)
Slovak programmes are aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), a system that makes it easy to compare qualification levels between countries. Employers in Germany, the Netherlands or Austria can therefore understand the level of knowledge of a Slovak graduate.

Universities undergo international accreditation
Slovak universities are regularly assessed for quality and confirm that their programmes meet European academic standards. This is an important condition for recognition of a qualification abroad.

The European ECTS system
Study in Slovakia is based entirely on the ECTS credit system, which simplifies recognition of individual subjects and makes it easier to work or continue studying in another EU country.

No nostrification within the EU
If you hold a Slovak diploma, you do not need to undergo complex procedures to confirm your education when moving to another EU country. This opens up opportunities for work and study without unnecessary bureaucratic barriers.

A Slovak diploma is more than a document confirming education. It is a ticket to employment, study and development throughout the European Union.
