An educational tour of Slovakia in winter

We invite secondary-school pupils on an educational tour of Slovak universities and schools during the 2020 winter holidays.

Discover cities and institutions, visit residences, see student living conditions, hear practical tips and study secrets, practise Slovak and take everyday adaptation training. We will visit several cities and many colleges or universities.

Tour participants receive a EUR 50 discount when signing an educational services agreement. Registration is required and places are limited.

Included are advice on choosing universities and colleges, air and rail travel, transport within Slovakia, institutional and residence visits, conversations with current students, residence or hostel accommodation with breakfast, and practical adaptation training.

Cities: Košice, Banská Bystrica with Zvolen, Nitra with Trnava, and Bratislava. Institutions include the Technical University and Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice; the Slovak University of Technology and Comenius University in Bratislava; Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica; the Technical University in Zvolen; and universities in Nitra and Trnava.

For Year 9 leavers, options include an automotive school, industrial secondary school, sports grammar school, Jozef Adamovič conservatory, hotel and restaurant school, Spanish-Chinese grammar school, private business school, and vocational design and painting school.

Visitors can see training for Spanish and Chinese translators, logistics specialists, sports coaches, IT specialists, computer designers, tourism managers, beekeepers, chemical technologists, agricultural specialists, cooks, bartenders, mechanics, flight attendants and retail workers. They will also learn about three- and four-year college admission and dual education.

The tour is individualised: each applicant receives advice, and the route reflects their subject, institutions and cities of interest.

Adaptation training covers transport maps and route-planning websites, intercity and local tickets, shopping in Slovak supermarkets, cultural differences, etiquette, respectful interaction and conversational Slovak.
