After graduating from the ninth grade of any CIS country, your child may enter the gymnasium or college in Slovakia. In this case, there is no need for preparatory courses just before entering universities, if we talk about high school graduates of CIS countries.
Studying in a gymnasium or college lasts 3-4 years. During this time, the child will master the Slovak language to a sufficient extent, acquire a specialty, adapt to living in Slovakia. The specialization of the gymnasium will allow you to get a high level of training and easy admission to any Slovak university, because the gymnasium and schools in Slovakia are initially aimed at children who plan to continue their studies in higher education institutions. - IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE GAME ON MUSIC TOOLS, SINGINGS, DANCES
- We invite you to study at the Conservatory of Slovakia!
- Conservatories are analogous to our music schools, there are both public and private institutions. In state conservatories, the training is free, in private – from free to 750 euros per year. To enter, you need to draw up creative tests specializing in “talent”. Conservatory training lasts 4 or 6 years (optional).
- After 4 years of study, the graduate will receive a European certificate and will be able to continue their studies at the Academy of Arts or work in the art team.
- After 6 years of study, the graduate receives a diploma of an art specialist (DIC ART) and can teach or pursue a creative career.
- During their studies, students often perform concerts both in Slovakia and throughout Europe. This allows you to show yourself and show your talents in the European space.
- Of course, it will be very difficult to enter into singing or drama due to the weak knowledge of the Slovak language and accent, but it is quite possible to dance, musical and play musical instruments. We counted about 20 conservatives, which is quite a lot for such a small country as Slovakia.
- If you are interested in training in conservatories – contact us and our specialists will be happy to help you with the admission process.
- IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES
- If the child already knows that he wants to connect his life with information technologies, he can get an excellent base for future studies at universities, starting his studies in a secondary school after grade 9!
- Secondary schools in specialization are computer science. There are a lot of them, they are in almost every city in Slovakia.
- Admission – after 9th grade. Training for 4 years.
- You can choose as a general class of computer science, where students will study robotics, programming, web design, computer graphics, computer networking, 3-D printer management, and more detailed specializations.
- Future programmers, managers, specialists in information and media technologies, specialists in the repair of computer equipment or mobile communications are studying in schools of computer science.
- Here, for example, offers from one of the schools: electrical engineering, computer systems, information and network technologies – development of ICT solutions, information and network technologies – ICT systems and their management, multimedia. And all this in the specialization of computer technology!
- During the training, all students undergo internships and practice with employers, where they are already waiting for job offers at the end (As with other specialties.)
- But what to do after graduation – to continue studying at the university, or to get a job – it will be a decision of the graduate.
- IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TECHNICAL DIRECTIONS
- If children from childhood like to collect various technical devices from the designer, play cars, steam trucks, disassemble and repair them in case of failure, and at an older age they can even repair their bicycles and various equipment, they are happy to work with drawings and calculations, they need to learn technical specialties!
- There are many such opportunities in Slovakia, as well as throughout Europe, because the industry is very powerful here! Actively developing enterprises of automotive and industrial production, construction companies are constantly invited to work specialists.
- After grade 9, our students can study in the following specialties: Autotronic (computer diagnostics of cars), locksmith, electrician for car repair, pilot, aircraft maintenance, railway, technology and operation of transport, management of CNC machines, information technology in production, mechanic – debugger of industrial equipment, installation and repair of refrigeration and thermal equipment, specialist in energy equipment of buildings, environmental protection, security and protection of property, jeweler, production and repair of weapons, printing and many other interesting specialties.
- During the training, students will study various computer programs, drawings, foreign languages, programming, robotics and 3-D printers, and other subjects. They will receive certificates of turning machines, millers, welders – because all these specializations are included in the curricula.
- Training in technical areas is practical, on the basis of employers. From the first month of study, students can receive a scholarship in the amount of 50-100 euros + salary for hours of practical classes. That is, 14-15-year-olds will be able to provide themselves during their studies. And after graduating from the technical school, graduates will be happy to invite employers to work, because not only in Slovakia, but throughout Europe there are not enough technical specialists! The average salary of such workers depending on the country is 2-3 thousand euros per month.
- And, of course, graduates of technical schools with such basic education are quite easy to apply further education in universities and receive engineering specialties. Among our clients there are already graduates who hold engineering positions at enterprises.
- IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SPORTS DIRECTION
- Slovakia is very interested in athletes. There are even sports schools that can enter after grade 9 children who have sports achievements.
- Football, hockey, handball, cycling, swimming, athletics, weightlifting, karate, canoism, tennis, figure skating, horseback riding – this is not the whole range of sports that you can study in Slovakia.
- Training in such schools is carried out according to a special schedule: training on the basis of sports clubs daily, and sometimes 2 times a day + schooling in several areas.
- Usually in such schools there are specializations:
- Sports Gymnasium – this specialization is studied by the general school program. This is a good base for admission to the university.
- Sports management – teach management in sports. After graduation, graduates can already work in sports clubs, associations, fitness centers, any sports organizations by sports managers.
- Information Systems – 2 subsections: Digital services in sports and data processing in sports. After graduation, graduates take maturites as well as sports exams and can receive a 2 or 3 category coaching certificate.
- Also during the training, all students-athletes participate in sports competitions, as part of sports teams both in Slovakia and throughout Europe.
- IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TOURISM, HOTEL AND RESTAURANT BUSINESS AND TRADE
- In such schools, you can get a professional certificate of a chef, confectioner, waiter in three years.
- 4 years you can study in the specialty – tourism, cosmetics, cook, hairdresser, makeup artist-cosmetologist. For 4 years graduates will study specialty + European certificate.
- If students want to have their own pocket (and not only pocket) funds, we invite you to study in a dual specialty – management in trade. You will learn in mode: week – theory + week – practice. Practice and internship can be held on the basis of large retail chains – Metro, Leeds, Kaufland and others. Employers pay scholarships to schoolchildren – 50 euros + salary for the time spent. That is, for a month, a student studying this specialty can receive 200-600. After 4 years of such training, a ready-made trade specialist leaves the school.
- Or maybe you want to gain knowledge and experience in the hotel and restaurant business? Then we invite you to study at the Hotel Academy. The training lasts 5 years. During the training, students take different courses – barista, waitress, hostess (specialist in hospitality), get economic knowledge of the organization of hotel and restaurant business, study 2 foreign languages and undergo compulsory internships both in Slovakia and abroad (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Cyprus, etc.).
- After graduating from the Academy, graduates are waiting, and they are happy to hire employers in hotels, sanatoriums, recreation centers. Or maybe they will even open their business – a small hostel or cafe – because during the training they will have all the necessary skills and knowledge for their business!
- IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BUSINESS DIRECTIONS
- Does your child enjoy mathematics, counting money and taking part in everyday purchases? Does your son or daughter already have their own outlook and business ideas at the age of 12–14? Do they have clear views and a sense of purpose?
- At your service are business schools in Slovakia! Yes, there are such schools. They are in many cities of Slovakia, they aim to prepare students to start their business, find their niche among the many opportunities offered by the world, to become successful in their business.
- For 4 years of study (introduction to school after grade 9), students study economics, finance, accounting, computer science, the basics of law, psychology, marketing. In the last courses, training takes place in groups. Students prepare projects, develop business plans, “launch” their firms from production, hiring, to the issue of their business cards, advertising and final sales of products or services (for now, of course, in educational and game form).
- Already for 3-4 courses of study – compulsory practice and internships, which take place on the basis of Slovak firms.
- If you want, you can get dual education even in the business sector (to conclude an agreement with the employer for 1 year of study, and all 4 years of study on the basis of the same enterprise, to receive a scholarship and even a salary for hours of practice). Thus, 14-15-year-old schoolchildren are running for their age a considerable amount of funds for the payroll costs.
- Successful students can optionally participate in the Erasmus student exchange program and go to study for several months to another country, receiving a scholarship that will cover accommodation, meals and travel in both directions.
- In the last course of study, the graduate has the opportunity to pass an accounting exam, pass certification and obtain an accountant’s or tax inspector’s certificate. After graduating from business schools, many graduates immediately offer work as managers, financial consultants, employees of banking institutions and, of course, accountants.
- Graduates of business schools also continue their studies at universities. They are willing to take them to the economic and financial faculties of universities.
- IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CINEMA, FISHING, HORSE BREEDING, SUPREME RIDING, VETERINERY
- There are unusual schools where there is an opportunity to get a specialty of a cynologist, fishermen, a specialist in horse breeding, horse riding and a veterinarian. And in some schools from the second to third year, you can even bring your favorites with you!
- And most importantly – all graduates of the school will be able to immediately after graduation (or even in recent years of study), find a job, because they are in line with employers!
- And if the school graduates want to get higher education, we invite you to enter the university to continue your studies in specialties. We will tell everyone about all the possibilities of training individually.
- SCHOOL ROOMS IN SLOVAKIA
- Children from 14 years of age, who are trained in Slovak gymnasiums, live in special dormitories. In Slovakia, such dormitories are called internat. This building is represented by a block layout of the rooms. The block scheme is most convenient to use, which is why it is often practiced. Each unit has two double rooms, a shower, a sink, a toilet. Each room is equipped with a set of furniture: beds, wardrobe, chairs, table, bedside tables. Each room is covered with its own key, and additionally closes the door of the block itself. Each unit has its own kitchen, which is equipped with an electric stove, a refrigerator. A prerequisite in the hostel is the presence of protection at the entrance. The flow of visits is strictly controlled, so there are no reasons to worry about the safety of children. Lunches and dinners are provided in the school dining rooms, which are located close to boarding houses. In Slovakia, there are gymnasiums that have their own dormitories right in the building. Such dormitories have their own dining room in which students eat. Dining according to the breakfast-dinner scheme in such dining rooms will cost about 2-3 euros. In the dormitory, children are divided into groups. Each group has a responsible person in the hostel, in Slovak (vychovateľka). The position is similar to the placement in the kindergarten. The circle of duties of such a person includes everything related to the improvement of life in the dormitory and behavior in its walls. The responsible person does not control the learning process, only attending classes in the gymnasium. If the gymnast is not going to go to classes, he will be asked why? And be sure to inform the responsible person who is fully responsible for the child in Slovakia. Such a person usually has a power of attorney from the parents of the gymnast and is authorized by their person to control the learning process, as well as is responsible for the minor gymnast. At the end of the semester and the beginning of official holidays, gymnasts are obliged to leave the territory of the hostel for the entire period of holidays.
Depending on where you chose a school in Slovakia for your child, a hostel is also selected. On average, the price per month varies from 80 to 150 euros.
