UNIVERSITY WEBSITE

In 2001, at the initiative of the Hungarian Coalition government, the Slovak government decided to establish a Hungarian faculty at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, but the Academic Council rejected the decision.

On 21 August 2003, the Slovak government accepted for consideration a law establishing J. Selye University, with teaching to be provided in Slovak, Hungarian and other foreign languages.
The Accreditation Commission approved the proposal to establish the university. J. Selye University officially opened on 23 October 2003.
As the city is near the Hungarian border, teaching is mainly in Hungarian. Depending on the number of applicants, courses are also taught in Slovak and English.
