Computer Science — Comenius University Bratislava
Informatics is a science that deals with the processing of information, especially the development of automated processing methods using computers and the creation of information and computing systems. Today, it is difficult to find a field of human activity that would do without the use of computers and modern information and communication technologies.
Comenius University played a key role in the development of university education in informatics in former Czechoslovakia. Although computer science can now be studied at almost every Slovak university, and the initial program of studying computer science at FMFI UK has undergone many significant changes, the curriculum at Comenius University retains its historical and historical significance.
Graduates acquire a deep understanding of complex information and communication systems, they master not only the theoretical foundations of the industry, but also how theory is used in practice. A reliable knowledge base, the ability to think broadly and a tendency to self-development allow them to keep up with the dynamic development of informatics.

Graduates who have received a bachelor’s degree in computer science are able to independently create small and medium programs, as well as participate in the creation of large systems. They can perform other tasks related to information technology – choosing the appropriate and high-quality hardware and software for the needs of an employer institution, installing, setting up and managing complex software and information and communication systems.
The undergraduate curriculum is characterized by considerable flexibility, which allows you to take into account the individual needs and ideas of the student. Thanks to this variability, you can prepare a graduate who is able to work almost immediately after graduation, although most graduates choose the option of continuing their studies at the Faculty in the Master of Computer Science.
