Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava

Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava

Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (AFA) – is the creative heart of Slovakia, where modern art meets European traditions. Here Ukrainian students get a unique opportunity to study with teachers-practitioners who themselves exhibit work at international exhibitions.

Directions of study: painting, graphics, sculpture, intermediaálne umenie (new media), photography a video, reštaurovani works of art, dizajn a vizuálna komunikácia. The programs focus on practice, so each student works in spacious workshops, studios and professionally equipped laboratories.

International opportunities: AFA actively cooperates with well-known European art schools, offers exchanges through Erasmus+, joint exhibitions, residences and master classes from talented artists from all over the world.

Why is it interesting for applicants:

• Studying in Slovak for foreigners in state universities is free.
• The proximity to Vienna, Budapest and Prague gives access to the leading galleries and art fairs in Europe.
• Students participate in city festivals, performances and exhibitions, forming their own professional portfolio during their studies.

AFA is a chance to reveal your talent in an open European environment, receive a prestigious diploma and lay the foundation for an international career of an artist, designer or art curator.
