The school has several achievements shared by only a few schools worldwide. A distinctive feature of Animation Studio is the MotionCapture 20 Motion Picture Animation System, which students are learning to use today. Among schools in Europe and worldwide, only one US university has this 20-camera animation system. Motion capture was used by animators on Avatar, The Lord of the Rings and King Kong.
This is a premier discipline in animation, now available to Slovak students too. Animation is more than drawing and cartoons: it is used in architecture, archaeology, medicine, biology, criminology and many other fields. Studying it broadens students’ horizons and greatly improves employment prospects.
The other four departments — photography, graphics, fashion design, and video and audio production — also provide high-quality teaching. Students work with cutting-edge technology and current software and hardware.
